An Unbalanced Wing Chun Stance

Please examine this picture of a man holding a Wing Chun stance.

The man’s stance is unbalanced and his body is asymmetric. Observations supporting those claims include the face the right side of his face is bright,

while the left side of his face looks dark.

His right ear is visible,

but his left ear is not visible.

The shoulders slant down to his left.

The upper right leg slants down at a particular angle,

that is different from the angle of the upper left leg. And the right ankle and foot look larger, than the left ankle and foot.

It is arguable whether the unbalanced pose and those observations are the result of semi-permanent changes to the structure of his body, or a temporary condition caused by the posture he is holding.

Some might be of the opinion that the difference in appearance of the left side of the body is caused by it’s rotation forwards that is only a temporary state caused by the Wing Chun stance the man is holding.

The author is of the opinion that the unbalanced posture and body changes are the result of the bodily structure changing. All of the observed changes in the left side of the body, including it’s rotation forwards, are the result of shrinkage of the upper leg in the highlighted area,

shrinkage of the left side of the torso in the highlighted area,

and shrinkage of the left side of the head.

It is not a coincidence that those three areas form one long connected area, and it is the opinion of the author that the man’s body it is not a coincidence that the man’s body is deformed or changed in the way that it is and that he also practices Wing Chun.
