The Secret Of The Ankh – Incomplete

The symbol in this picture is called an “Ankh”.

The Ankh is well known symbol of ancient Egyptian culture. The origin or the inspiration for the Ankh is not known by scientists. There have been a variety of theories put forth, some of which are listed next.

“The origin of the (Ankh)symbol remains a mystery to Egyptologists, and no single hypothesis has been widely accepted.

(1) – One of the earliest suggestions is that of Thomas Inman, first published in 1869;

It is by Egyptologists called the symbol of life. It is also called the “handled cross,” or crux ansata. It represents the male triad and the female unit, under a decent form. There are few symbols more commonly met with in Egyptian art. In some remarkable sculptures, where the sun’s rays are represented as terminating in hands, the offerings which these bring are many a crux ansata, emblematic of the truth that a fruitful union is a gift from the deity.

(2) – E. A. Wallis Budge postulated that the symbol originated as the belt-buckle of the mother goddess Isis, an idea joined by Wolfhart Westendorf with the notion that both the ankh and the knot of Isis were used in many ceremonies. Sir Alan Gardiner speculated that it represented a sandal strap, with the loop going around the ankle. The word for sandal strap was also spelled ?n?, although it may have been pronounced differently.

(3) – In their 2004 book The Quick and the Dead, Andrew Hunt Gordon and Calvin W. Schwabe speculated that the ankh, djed, and was symbols have a biological basis derived from ancient cattle culture (linked to the Egyptian belief that semen was created in the spine), thus:

the Ankh, symbol of life, thoracic vertebra of a bull (seen in cross section)
the Djed, symbol of stability, base on sacrum of a bull’s spine
the Was, symbol of power and dominion, a staff featuring the head and tail of the god Set, “great of strength”

Egyptian academics, in particular those at the University of Cairo, aver that the ankh has been over-interpreted and that it is representative of the pivotal role of the Nile in the country. The oval head is said to represent the Nile delta, with the vertical mark representing the path of the river and the East and West arms representing the two sides of the country and their unification”.

None of those theories are correct.

According to Happeh Theory, the Ankh symbol is a representation of the physical human being as well as what might be called the “spiritual” human being.

demonstrates the inspiration for the Ankh symbol.

Why the Ankh is a representation of the physical component of a human being is easy to understand by comparison a picture of the Ankh Symbol to a human body with outstretched arms. 

An Ankh resembles a human body. The bottom of the Ankh looks like the lower torso and legs of a human body,

the horizontal projections of the Ankh look like the arms of the human body,

and the oval shape at the top of the Ankh looks like the head of the human body.

While it is true that an Ankh resembles a human body with outstretched arms, that explanation seems too simplistic to be a complete explanation for the inspiration for the design of the Ankh.

It seems like there would have to be a more important reason than just a general resemblance to the human body, for a relatively sophisticated civilization like that of ancient Egypt to imbue the Ankh with the importance it had in that society. 

That feeling is an accurate one. The design of the Ankh symbol was inspired by more than just an overall resemblance to a human body with outstretched arms.

The design of the Ankh is also based on what might be termed “the deep level construction” of the human body”.

Only people who either have developed their body in a particular way that makes them aware of the deep level construction of the human body, or people who through a fortune of birth are born with bodies that are already have the deep level of the body developed, could know that information.

Which means the ancient Egyptians knew about the deep level construction of the human body. And development of the deep level construction of the human body is associated with the simultaneous development of mental or “mystical” abilities, which is why the ancient Egyptians placed such importance on the Ankh.

Demonstrating what part of the deep level construction of the human body the Ankh is based on requires some modification of the symbol.

 The first thing that needs to be done is to split the circular top of the symbol from the rest of the symbol as shown next.

This picture shows the top of the Ankh symbol by itself so the motivated reader can think ahead and possibly reach some conclusion before they see it.

Then a picture of a reduced size image of the top of the Ankh on a large empty image.

The reduced size Ankh top is then moved to the right side of the empty image.

Then more of the reduced size Ankh tops are added to the image so they are all aligned with the original Ankh Top.

That image demonstrates the mystery meaning of the Ankh symbol as well as being a depiction of a human being. You are probably confused though. Huh? What if the picture is altered by adding a line following the boundaries of each Ankh top as it travels from the bottom of one Ankh top to the top of the next Ankh top?

You see it of course don’t you? The line following the boundaries of the Ankh top symbols forms a wave.

That is the secret meaning of the Ankh. A human being is really a wave. And the ancient Egyptians who are around hundreds of years ago knew that, and integrated the knowledge throughout their culture with the Ankh symbol.
