The God Kali

The picture below shows a statue of the Indian God known as “Kali”.

The statue of Kali shows a human being with two pairs of arms.

The inspiration for those two pairs of arms is the fact the human body can feel as if it has multiple pairs of arms.

According to Yin Yang Theory, everything in the universe can be divided into Yin and Yang. That would include the human body since a human body is an object in the universe.

The human body itself can be described in terms of Yin and Yang in a number of ways. One way is to describe the human body as consisting of two halves, one of which is Yin and one of which is Yang.

 There is a particular pattern to where the Yin parts of the body are and where the Yang parts of the body are. Pointing those areas out can best be accomplished using a picture of a human body on it’s hands and knees as if it were an animal on all fours. 

The “down on all fours” posture makes it easier to point out the Yin and Yang areas of the body because “Yin” is associated with what is called “the internal part of the body”, while Yang is associated with what is called “the external part of the body”, and the “down on all fours” pose of a human body makes the internal and external areas of the body obvious.

The external area of a human body down on all fours would be the outside of the legs,

and the back,

because they the external parts of the closed shape formed by a human body on all fours.

The internal part of the body is the inside of the arms and legs,

and the chest an stomach,

because they are on the inside of the closed shape created by a human body on all fours.

The god Kali has four arms is because two of the arms represent the Yin part of the normal arms,

while the other two arms represent the Yin part of the normal arms.
