“Black In The Face” is a term used to describe the energy distribution visible in the face of a human being. The ideal human face should have an even distribution of energy across it’s entire surface. An even distribution of energy across the face would be associated with both good health and a balanced body.
Very generally, there are two causes that will produce the darkening of the face that is called “Black In The Face”. Any type of permanent or temporary health problem will cause a darkening of the face, and both temporary or permanent tightening of the head and body will cause a darkening of the face. The part of the face that becomes dark is directly related to the health problem affecting the individual, or directly related to the part of the head and body that has become tight.
The example image for this blog entry is shown below.
The right side of the man’s face is dark while the left side is very bright. The line highlights the boundary between the dark and bright sides of the man’s face.
This picture is an example of “temporary tightening of the body” caused Black In The Face. What is it about the picture leads to that conclusion?
There are two observations about the man’s body that support the conclusion he has “tightening of the body” caused Black In The Face in the right side of his face.
The man’s right hand is gripped into a fist,
and his body is leaning over to the right.
The right hand had to be tightened to make it close into a fist, and the right side of the man’s body had to tighten or contract shorter to make his entire body lean to the right. The connection between the observed Black In The Face and the condition of the man’s body is as obvious in this case as it looks. The entire right side of the man’s body contracted, which in turn contracted both his hand into a fist, and contracted the right side of his face enough to make it develop Black In The Face.
While this picture of Black In The Face has been labeled as being caused by “temporary physical tightening of the body”, it is very likely the example man will also display the same right side Black In The Face in other pictures where he is not actively tightening his body.
That is because physical actions that are strong enough to cause Black In The Face are usually repetitive actions that the affected individual has consciously or unconsciously engaged in over years of time. This example individual is involved in sports, so it would be reasonable to believe that he is right handed and uses his right side, arm, and hand constantly while playing the sport.
That constant use of his right side will have semi permanently reduced or contracted the right side of his body, including the right side of his face, which will make him constantly look like he has right side Black In The Face.
