Here we have a relatively innocuous movie. Nothing like the movies listed above. Brazil is a movie about the question of reality. What is it really? There are a few emotionally uncomfortable scenes in the movie involving the subject of torture. If this kind of material bothers you, this movie would not be for you.
This is a beautiful movie. There are one or two scenes that include graphic use of special effects to depict some gross physical things. The scenes are done for shock value to make a point in the movie. The scenes are not gross for no reason other than to make people sick. The movie is also geared for adults so there are some scenes that could be considered objectionable if strong adult themes bother you.
WARNING! - Donnie Darko is a crazy movie. It will make the viewer think crazy thoughts. You should be mentally strong and stable before viewing this movie. Although the movie does not have any scences that are particularly sexual or violent, the movie does contain mentally potent scenes that will cause mental discomfort.
Dark City is a thought provoking movie. There are no scenes of extreme sex or violence, nor are their mentally hurtful scenes. This movie is a mix between detective story and science fiction.
