The Chinese people at one time practiced something called “foot binding”, which involved wrapping up the feet of females so they stayed very small. It is popularly claimed and believed that the small feet were a sign of beauty. Many people would interpret the phrase “a sign of beauty” as meaning bound feet were pleasing to the eye.<\/span><\/p>\n

That is not the case according to this author. For the immediate reason why the author has that belief, please examine this picture of foot that has gone through the foot binding procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does that foot look pleasing to the eye? Even taking into account that different people find different things pleasurable, doesn’t that foot look deformed so badly that it might even evoke feelings of disgust in someone?<\/span><\/p>\n

If Chinese people are like you or most other people, and that foot looks visually unappealing or perhaps even disgusting to them, why would they engage in the practice of foot binding and why would the popular belief that foot binding was done because it made the women appear beautiful have developed?<\/span><\/p>\n

Because the Chinese people think in an entirely different way from you or most other people. Chinese knowledge of the Yin part of the body and how it manifests itself in the human body, give them an entirely different perspective on how the human body functions and behaves, and what it is that indicates a properly functioning human body.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is that perspective given by knowledge of the Yin part of the body and how it manifests itself that is the motive for foot binding and the reason why the popular belief that foot binding was done for visual appeal originated.<\/span><\/p>\n

To someone who understands how development of the Yin changes a human body, foot binding is appealing because the results of foot binding change the behavior of the Yin part of the woman’s body.<\/span><\/p>\n

The reason why the popular belief that foot binding was done for visually appealing reasons originated was to hide the true reasons for foot binding from Westerners and other foreigners who were ignorant of Yin Yang Theory and how it can be used to discuss and explain the construction and behavior of the human body.<\/span><\/p>\n

That knowledge of Yin Yang Theory and it’s application to the human body gives Asian people an advantage over people who do not know about Yin Yang Theory and it’s application to the human body, so in the historical period when technologically superior foreigners were attacking China, they quite naturally lied about things that gave them an advantage over their enemies.<\/span><\/p>\n

An advantage they retain to this day since the Western countries have done nothing to promulgate knowledge of Yin Yang Theory among their population in the decades since the West became exposed to Yin Yang Theory.<\/span><\/p>\n

For those wondering what exactly the Chinese found appealing about bound feet from the perspective of Yin Yang Theory, you will have to satiate your curiosity by examining the photo and pondering what you see along with what you yourself know about Yin Yang Theory for the time being.<\/span><\/p>\n
