One of the regular emotions demonstrated by the characters in Dragonball Z is surprise. One of the characteristic physical responses of a surprised characters is that their eyes will get large,<\/span><\/p>\n

and sometimes project out from the head a few inches in cases of extreme surprise.<\/span><\/p>\n

While that response is exaggerated for the Anime, it is not an invention of imagination. It is an exaggerated version of the actual human response to surprise. And the human body responds that way because of how it is constructed, and not because of conscious decisions on the part of the surprised individual.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One way of visualizing why the eyes of surprised person \u201cbug out\u201d is to employ the concept of grounding. A human being who is grounded can be visualized as having strings connecting every part of their body to the ground. Those strings anchor every part of the body solidly to the ground. When a human being experiences surprise it loses control of those grounding strings. Since the grounding strings connected to the eyes are no longer anchored to the ground, the eyes are able to \u201cbreak free\u201d of the body and begin to widen, then move away or extend away from it like a balloon floating away after it\u2019s anchor rope is released.<\/span><\/p>\n

The extent to which the eyes of a surprised human being will \u201cbug out\u201d in real life is influenced by the Yin development of their body. The eyes of a person with strong Yin development will widen slightly so more of the whites of their eyes can be seen. The eyes of a person with weak Yin development will open as wide as they possibly can and literally look as if they are protruding from the face just like eyes of the characters in the Anime.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next video clip shows Ninja Murasaki putting on some large circular shoes,<\/span><\/p>\n

then using them to walk across a pond.<\/span><\/p>\n

That basic premise behind that scene is accurate in real life. It really is possible for a human being to \u201cwalk on water\u201d by controlling the way their weight shifts and where their center of gravity is.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
