This blog entry is about a type of shield used by primitive soldiers.

There are many different types and designs of shields for warfare. The shield that is the subject of this blog entry is the Round Shield.

The Round Shield ia based on how the arm of the human body is contructed or functions at a very basic level. The arm functions like a snake wrapped around the bones of the arm. If a coiled up snake is viewed from above, the entire body forms a circular shape.

Here is a side by side comparison picture.

This snake is like the activating part of the arm. The activating part of the arm is soft, it is not strong enough to hold it's own shape. It needs to wrap around something to stabilize them. The muscles wrap around the bones of the arm. The hole in the center of the coiled snake corresponds to where the arm bones are in the arm.
The original inventors of the shield felt this natural way the body is constructed. They could feel that the part of the arm that activates it's movement was like a coiled up snake riding along the arm bones. When the arm was resting, the activating part of the arm would coil up,like the picture of the snake, and form a circle.
The hands resting on the chest with the activating part of the arm coiled up acts as natural protection for the body. The body will naturally assume this position when it is in danger. The inventors of the battle shield used this knowledge that that natural shield for the upper part of the body was the circular shaped activating part of the arm held in front of the chest. They made a circular shaped metal or wood shield designed to be held in front of the chest. A stronger duplicate of what nature had built into the human body.
This is the same path followed by all human inventions. Some facet of the human body will be taken as is, or taken and improved on or changed to provide an invention useful to human society.
Note: I purposefully use the phrase "activating part of the arm". I do not say muscles in order to avoid confusion. If I say muscles, and a reader looks at an anatomy book, the anatomy book will not show a circular curled up structure within the body as I have described.
The only way to comprehend what I mean by "activating part of the arm", is to engage in some type of body changing practice designed to awaken the body. Then wait the necessary number of years for the sensations to verify what is said here.
