Human Inventions are inspired by The Human Body

The particular type of aliens referred to in the post title are the aliens from the movie Alien. They look like this.

The area of focus is the mouth. The picture above showcases the famous mouth of the Giger alien design. There is an outer mouth which opens up like the one below.

After this large mouth opens, another mouth extends from inside the large mouth. There is an extensible mechanism that pushes the smaller set of jaws far out from the main set of jaws as shown in the next picture.

This is the part of the Giger alien design that is based on real life human beings metamorphosing, evolving, growing up, maturing, whatever word you like.

When a person reaches a certain age, if they are healthy, the will begin to feel sensations as of there is something sticking out of their mouth just like that small mouth shown in the picture above. When Giger created his art, his inspiration was his own change. He was frightened of what was occuring because no one had ever told him about it before. The alien art he drew was an attempt to show graphically what the sensations felt like to him.

It is possible to divine his motives in creating the art because of the evolving nature of the pictures. In the alien picture above, he drew a set of small jaws emerging from the mouth. In the next picture, he painted penisis emerging from the mouth.

What is significant about this photo other than than it shows a different object emerging from the mouth is the actual choice of object. A penis. Most people would see this and interpret it as sexual or pornographic art. They would associate the mouth with oral sex perhaps and dismiss the design as an artist's whim. That would be shortsighted and presumptios.

Giger purposefully chose the penis as the object emerging from the mouth because 1) A penis is the only object on the human body that rises up on it's own and becomes hard, 2) Sex is one of the things that can either trigger the metamorphosing change in a human being, or stimulate and accelerate the change.

As Giger was an artist, I would guess that the social crowd he associated with were drug users. I would guess that his use of whatever drugs he had access to started the changes in his body. He had never heard of these changes before, plus he was under the influence of the drugs causing the change. I would guess that all of this mixed together in his mind to create the fear that was the inspiration of the alien design. Aliens were a common part of human culture when Giger was creating this art. It was a popular subject in popular culture to wonder if humans were descended from Aliens.

Because Giger did not know what was happening to him, and because the metamorphosis is an ongoing changing process, Giger's artwork also metamorphosed. As his changing body provided more and more sensations, Giger became familiar with what was happening and changed his art accordingly. The picture below shows an Alien with a tube like extension from the mouth and a mouth like opening from the end. This is distinct from the detailed alien mouth in the first picture, or the penis in the second picture.

When describing these sensations Giger was feeling, they can be described from two viewpoints. One viewpoint is the one already shown in the pictures. Some object being extended outwards from the mouth.

There is another completely opposite way to describe what is happening. Something being pushed out of the mouth can also be thought of as something reaching into the mouth, grabbing hold of the object, then pulling it out.

We can see this idea in the FaceHugger alien designed by Giger. The FaceHugger stuck something down into the mouth of the human being.

People who have watched the movie and seen the FaceHugger in action know that the legs that you see on the face hold the FaceHugger to the head so it cannot be removed. This can also be thought of from a different perspective. The FaceHugger can be thought of as holding onto the head to brace itself so it can pull it's tail or whatever it is back out of the victim's mouth.

As Giger's changes continued, he decided that instead of feeling like something was being pushed out of his mouth, it felt more like something was pulling something out of his mouth. Justification for this statement can be found in this piece of art.

In this picture, instead of the small FaceHugger clamped to the face, a large alien creature is depicted as bracing itself over the neck instead of just the face. The body language of the creature is all backwards. It looks as if the creature is pulling something backwards out of the man's mouth.

The next in the series of pictures would be towards the end of the changes that Giger was undergoing. This next picture shows an alien creature similar to the one above. This alien is wrapped completely around the head. It appears to be clamped very close to the body.

This would be the final stage of Giger's metamorphosis. The motion is difficult to describe verbally. The alien has reached inside of Giger and grabbed hold. It then pulled Giger's insides out thru his mouth. As this happened, the recoil from the action pulled the alien closer and closer to Giger until it became a part of him.

This is, of course, a description using the imagery of an alien developed by the artist Giger to describe the metamorphosis of his body. It does not matter if there really is an alien or not.

What matters is there is a change to the human body that causes it to feel as if something is being pushed out of the mouth, or something is beign pulled out of the mouth. As the process continues and finalizes, a person will feel as if something is pulling itself very tight to the body.

The motion produces the same kind of force that Chinese finger handcuffs do. With Chinese Finger Handcuffs, a finger is inserted in each end. When they are pulled apart, the Finger Handcuffs shrink and hold the finger so it cannot move.

When the object is pushed out of, or pulled out of the mouth of the human being, the human body reacts like the Chinese Finger Handcuff. The body tightens up as whatever the object is pulled from the mouth just like the Finger Handcuff tightens up as the finger is pulled out.
