The example picture shows the upper body of a man who is sitting down.

The man’s eyes are rotated to his right.

The man’s body is also leaning to the right,

and his right hand is raised up to the chin.

Why? Why does the man’s body need to lean to the right when he looks to the right? Why does the right hand raise upwards when he looks to the right?

Because the man’s body is behaving as one large piece. The man’s attention is to his right, so his entire body focuses to the right. The eyes look to the right, the body tilts to the right, and the right hand raises upwards in reaction to the body tilting to the right.
