This is “There are no coincidence” week it looks like. I am running into many things relating to posts I have recently made. You must read the entire alien post for this to make sense.

In the alien post, I said that Giger created an alien picture based on sensations he was receiving from his own body. His art was based on himself, not some imaginary alien in his head.

In one of the pictures, there is an alien on the chest of a man with it’s face attached to the man’s face.

What I said was that this alien was based on the sensation Giger was feeling from his lungs or mouth. He felt like something on the outside of his body was pumping his mouth and lungs like a blacksmith pumps a bellows. Because the lungs are sac shaped, Giger drew the alien as a finite creature of a specific size. The inspiration for the drawing would be related to the size and strength of Giger’s own body.

In reality, the entire planet earth is a “facehugger” for Giger. The atmosphere of the entire planet can be viewed as pumping Giger’s lungs like a bellows.

I understand that the descriptions require a vivid imagination. I know the pictures are a small attempt to provide a better idea of what is going on. That is where the “there are no coincidences” comes into play. Because I know there was something lacking from this post, something to give the reader a better idea of what I am trying to get across, that better something showed itself to me. I was randomly looking at photos and came across the perfect photo that exactly describes what I am talking about.

Please look at this photo.

This picture is of a weightlifter or some kind of strong man. That object you see him blowing up is a hot water bottle. If you have never seen a hot water bottle, they are made from a heavy plastic or rubber. The effort to blow the bottle up that big is mind boggling.

The point of the photo of course is that it looks just like the facehugger does.

The man is blowing up the water bottle with air. It is attached to his mouth and hangs out in front of him. The facehugger is attached to the man’s mouth and is hanging out in front of him. The facehugger could also be viewed as being full of air.

If the man exhaled, then opened the water bottle, the air in the bottle would force it’s way into his lungs. We could see the man’s chest blow up with air. It would look like the water bottle was an external thing that was breathing for the man. The facehugger could be viewed as a big facehugger shaped water bottle full of air. The man exhales, put’s the face hugger to his face, and it forces the air into his lungs, appearing to breath for him.

This idea is what is behind Giger’s facehugger. For whatever reasons, he felt these sensations from his body. No one had ever told him about them so the sensations frightened him. He used his artwork to depict the physical sensations he was feeling with the fearful mindset he had. He drew some kind of monster alien on his face with something attached to his mouth.
